A shop owner in Ajman wants the window to stop people walking past. A wedding hall in Sharjah wants one huge seamless screen instead of four TVs. A showroom wants product videos that still look sharp from the sofa. All three are asking for the same thing: an LED video wall. And all three will get a good one or a disappointing one depending on three decisions made before anything is ordered: pixel pitch, indoor or outdoor brightness, and size.

This guide walks through those decisions in plain language, so you can compare quotes for LED video wall installation in Ajman, Sharjah or anywhere in the Northern Emirates and know what you are paying for.

LED video wall or TV wall: what is the difference?

An LED video wall is built from cabinets, each holding small LED modules, fitted together into one seamless picture. There are no black borders between panels, it can be almost any size or shape, and it is far brighter than a TV.

A TV wall (an LCD video wall) uses several thin-bezel screens side by side. It costs less for small sizes and gives very sharp text up close, but you will always see thin lines where the screens meet. For a small meeting room, LCD can be the sensible choice. For a shop window, a hall, a stage or anything large, LED wins.

Pixel pitch: the number that decides sharpness and price

Pixel pitch is the distance between LED pixels in millimetres, written as P1.5, P2.5, P4 and so on. The smaller the number, the more pixels per square metre, the sharper the picture up close, and the higher the price. A fine pitch video wall usually means P2.5 or below.

A simple rule of thumb: the closest comfortable viewing distance in metres is roughly two to three times the pitch in millimetres. A P2.5 wall looks smooth from about 5 to 7 metres away; up close you will see the dots.

Pixel pitchTypical useComfortable viewing from about
P1.2 to P1.9 (fine pitch)Boardrooms, reception lobbies, control rooms2.5 to 5 m
P2 to P2.5 (fine pitch)Showrooms, shops, hotel and hall interiors4 to 7 m
P3 to P4Large halls, stages, malls, majlis walls6 to 12 m
P4 to P10 (outdoor)Building fronts, roadside and rooftop screens10 m and more

The most common mistake we see is paying for a finer pitch than the room needs. If nobody stands closer than 6 metres, P1.5 is money spent on detail nobody will notice. Measure where people actually stand before you choose.

Indoor, window-facing or outdoor: brightness, heat and dust

  • Indoor walls are designed for shaded rooms. Too much brightness indoors is tiring to watch, so they run at a fraction of an outdoor screen's output.
  • Window-facing screens sit inside the shop but compete with the sun through the glass. They need a high-brightness indoor model, or the content washes out at midday.
  • Outdoor walls must be readable in direct UAE sunlight, sealed against dust and rain (look for an IP65 rating on the front), and built to handle summer heat with proper ventilation.

Heat matters more here than in most countries. An outdoor cabinet in July is working in conditions that shorten the life of cheap power supplies and modules. Ask what the screen is rated for and how it is ventilated, not only how bright it is.

Where commercial LED video walls work in Ajman and Sharjah

  • Shop windows and showrooms: moving product video that catches people walking or driving past.
  • Wedding halls, majlis and event spaces: one seamless backdrop for live camera feeds, presentations and family videos.
  • Restaurants and cafés: menus and promotions you change from a laptop instead of reprinting.
  • Office lobbies and meeting rooms: fine pitch walls for presentations and brand content.
  • Security and control rooms: CCTV camera feeds on one large display. Because we also install CCTV systems, the cameras, recorder and screen are planned together.

What drives the cost of an LED video wall

There is no honest single price per screen, because these items move the total:

  • Size in square metres: the biggest factor.
  • Pixel pitch: finer pitch means more LEDs per square metre.
  • Indoor or outdoor: outdoor cabinets cost more for brightness, sealing and cooling.
  • Cabinet quality: module brand, colour consistency and expected lifespan.
  • Structure: wall mount, floor stand or a steel frame for a building front.
  • Service access: front-service cabinets can sit flat on a wall; rear-service ones need space behind.
  • Controller and content system: how you send video to the wall and update it.
  • Power, data cabling and permits.

When you compare quotes, ask for the screen priced per square metre, then separate lines for structure, controller, installation and spare modules. That is the only way to see whether two offers are really for the same thing.

Permits and practical checks

Screens that face a road or sit on the outside of a building usually need an advertising permit from the municipality (Ajman Municipality, Sharjah Municipality and so on), and often the landlord's written approval. Inside malls, the mall management will have its own rules on size, brightness and installation hours. Check both before you sign, because a refused permit is an expensive surprise after the screen has arrived.

Also confirm there is enough power at the location, a safe route for data cables, and a wall or frame strong enough for the weight.

How we install an LED video wall

  1. Site survey: we measure the wall, the viewing distances and the light, and check power and structure.
  2. Specification: pitch, size, brightness and controller matched to how the screen will be used, in a written, itemised quote.
  3. Preparation: structure, power and data cabling ready before the cabinets arrive.
  4. Installation and calibration: cabinets fitted and aligned, then brightness and colour evened out so the wall looks like one picture.
  5. Content and handover: your first content loaded and your team shown how to change it.
  6. Spares and maintenance: we recommend keeping spare modules from the same production batch, so a repair matches the colour of the rest of the wall.

Ajman, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah

We are based in Ajman and work across Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain regularly. Video wall installation in Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah is planned as scheduled site visits, with the survey and installation dates agreed upfront. Dubai projects are welcome too.

Common questions

How long does an LED video wall last?
LED modules are rated for tens of thousands of hours, and brightness fades gradually rather than failing all at once. In practice, lifespan depends on heat, ventilation and how bright you run it, which is why outdoor screens need proper cooling.

Can the video wall show our CCTV cameras?
Yes. A video wall can show live camera feeds from your recorder, either full screen or as a grid next to other content. We plan this when we design the CCTV system.

Is fine pitch worth it for a small meeting room?
If people sit within 3 metres, a fine pitch LED wall or an LCD video wall both work; for very small rooms, LCD is usually better value. We will tell you which fits your room and budget.

Can I change the content myself?
Yes. Depending on the controller, you update content from a laptop, a USB drive or a phone app. We set it up and show your staff how during handover.
