CCTV & security systems in Halwan Suburb
Older homes, older camera systems
Halwan is one of the established residential suburbs of Sharjah city, mostly family houses and villas, and many of them had cameras fitted years ago. Those first systems are now reaching the end of their life: analogue cameras with fading images, DVRs whose phone apps no longer install, and outdoor cable that has spent years in the sun. This page is about CCTV maintenance in Halwan, but we also handle CCTV camera installation in Halwan Suburb when a full replacement is the sensible choice.
Faults we see in older Halwan installations
- Blurry or yellowed images from aged dome covers and lenses that cleaning alone will not fix.
- Night picture gone dark because the infrared LEDs on old cameras have burnt out one by one.
- A DVR still on its original hard disk, often failing silently and recording nothing.
- An app that is no longer supported on new phones, so the family has lost remote viewing.
- Cracked outdoor cable and rusted connectors causing flicker or video loss on humid or rainy days.
- One power adapter feeding every camera, so a single failure takes the whole system down.
Repair, refresh or replace
Not every old system needs to go. If the cable runs inside the walls are sound, HD analogue cameras and a new hybrid recorder can reuse them, which avoids opening walls and ceilings in a finished home. Where cameras are beyond repair we say so and quote a replacement. Regular visits under an annual maintenance contract then stop the refreshed system sliding back into the same state.
Sharjah rules for homes and shops
Family homes should keep cameras on their own property. Shops and offices in Halwan follow Sharjah Police requirements, explained in our Sharjah Police CCTV guide. For what a modern home layout looks like, see our home CCTV systems.
Common questions
Our DVR is very old and the app will not install. Can it be saved?
Sometimes a firmware update and a newer app restore access. If the model is no longer supported, we replace the recorder and keep the cameras that still work.
Do new cameras need new cables?
Not always. HD analogue cameras work on most existing coaxial cable, and IP cameras can sometimes run over it with converters. We test the cable first.
How do we book a repair visit?
Send photos of the recorder screen and the fault on WhatsApp. That often tells us which parts to bring. Sharjah visits are then scheduled, with priority for contract customers.
